Billing System: Subscriptions and Recurring Invoices
2 min read
It has been a while since the last blog update, and I wanted to fill you in on the latest developments at keinaufwand.
We spent the last three months on the first version of the keinaufwand billing system, which launched today. Below is a short summary of what it includes and what we have planned for the future.
Subscriptions
You can now set up subscriptions with different prices and terms. Our system allows flexible pricing and lets you combine different products, tax rates and discounts. Subscriptions renew automatically based on their start date and term. If a subscription should no longer renew, it can be canceled immediately or at the end of its term.
Recurring Invoices
When a subscription is created or renewed, our system automatically generates a new invoice and emails it to the customer. Just like with our booking system, you can customize the email text for new invoices to suit your needs. Each email also includes a printable PDF invoice that can be personalized with your own logo. Invoices can also be exported manually as PDFs whenever needed – whether to print and send them by mail or to file them for your bookkeeping.
Swiss QR Bill
For businesses with a Swiss bank account, invoices automatically include the new Swiss QR bill (see above), which replaces the orange payment slip (ESR) this September. Bank transactions made with it can be reconciled automatically in our system by importing so-called camt.053 bank statement files. For invoices without a QR bill, payments can be recorded manually.
A Look Ahead
The new billing system is available to keinaufwand Business accounts starting today. Instructions for each area can be found in the Help Center.
If you are a small club or business with only one location and staff member and are also interested, get in touch with us. We want to make the system available to smaller businesses too, but we still need feedback to put together a fair offer.
The features described above are just the beginning, though. We have many more exciting features for our billing system in mind or already planned, including:
- billing for appointment bookings
- automatically sending payment reminders and reminder fees
- invoice links for easy payment by credit card and other online payment methods (e.g. SEPA direct debit)
- a direct integration into our customer portal, so customers can buy and/or cancel their subscriptions on their own
As always, we welcome any feedback from you. Do you have questions about the new billing system or ideas for how we could expand keinaufwand in the future? We're all ears.
That's it for now. Thanks for reading and see you soon.
