From spreadsheet to customer management

A clean start saves corrections later.

Use the provided template as your starting point. The email address plays a key role in matching existing customers, so before importing, check addresses, spellings and duplicate entries in particular. A small, checked file is a good first step.

Prepare your CSV

Get your list into the right format.

The import template shows you the expected columns. Fill it in with your spreadsheet app and then save it as a CSV file.

Mind the format and delimiter: The file must use UTF-8 encoding and semicolons as delimiters. Phone numbers should include a country code so they're imported unambiguously.
Sort out duplicate addresses first: Customers are matched by email address. Check entries with shared or repeated addresses before you import the file.

Import & export

You decide how existing data is handled.

Choose the file in the import dialog. The overwrite option determines whether existing customers with the same email address should be updated.

Update existing customers deliberately: Only enable overwriting if the file contains the current details you want. After the import, check a few profiles before moving on to a larger list.
Export data for further use: You can export customers as CSV, including a filtered selection. That way, they're available for reports or further processing in your spreadsheet app.
