Automatic Contact Tracing for Groups and 50,000 Successful Appointments

With the introduction of contact tracing rules, clubs and associations had to start keeping attendance lists practically overnight so they could inform affected people as quickly as possible in the event of positive Covid cases.

In spring 2020, keinaufwand already had a solid booking system, but only for first appointments. Faced with the new challenges of the pandemic, we decided to expand our system to cover appointments and bookings for existing customers and members as well. Within one week, this gave rise to our customer portal. It allowed us to spare businesses from two administrative nightmares at once:

Spot limits The ability to limit spots in groups. Before the restrictions, it was common practice to simply show up for a group session, especially at sports clubs. With the customer portal, crowds and people being turned away at the door from overbooked sessions could be avoided.

Participant lists A positive Covid case can come up anywhere and at any time, setting off an avalanche of administrative tasks. From compiling all participants, to passing the data on to the official authorities, to informing everyone affected – the whole process can quickly throw your plans for the day out the window and turn it into an ordeal. Since launching the customer portal in May 2020, we have made over 50,000 successful group appointments possible despite the pandemic – whether for weekly classes, workshops or other group courses.
